PCUUC
Questions and Answers
Q: Why
are church services at 9:15am?
A: PCUUC has received favorable
rental pricing for the space at Byron Colby Barn in Prairie Crossing. In
order to do so, we much be out of the facility by 11:00am on Sundays as
the barn is frequently rented out for lunch events. We wanted enough
time to conduct the service and have ample social time after the service
to begin building a community among our members. The favorable pricing
from Prairie Crossing is helping us get the church started until we can
support funding alternatives in location and/or timeslots.
Q: Is the
church associated with Prairie Crossing?
A: No. Prairie
Circle UUC is not affiliated with any other organizations other than the
Unitarian Universalist Association. PCUUC is a Unitarian Universalist
congregation open to all who are seeking to worship in a UU
congregation.
Q: Is there a long
term commitment to the barn?
A: As noted
above, there are current cost advantages to using this location. But,
the barn will not meet our needs for religious education and other
programming as the church evolves. We anticipate that we will grow out
of the barn, however, the timing of such a transition is unknown. It is
important to house the church in North Central Lake County as location
is a one attractor to area UU's.
