The Hospitality Committee would like to continue its new tradition of celebrating Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), a Mexican holiday observed the first week of November. However, we are unable to identify someone to host the party at this time. The celebration includes a potluck dinner, costume contest and one or two cultural children’s activities (e.g. Mexican sugar skull-making or mask-making). The Hospitality Committee will provide dinner ware, supplies and help with set up and clean up. If you are interested in hosting the party at your home on either the evening of Friday, November 4, or Saturday, November 5, please contact the Hospitality Chair, Teresa Aguinaldo at Social_Events@PrairieCircleUUC.org.

Spring All-ages Nature Hike
It’s that lovely time of year again when the birds are chirping and things are sprouting! Come join the Religious Education program on a nature hike on Saturday, April 9th, at 1:00pm at McDonald’s Woods Forest Preserve in Lindenhurst, IL. Listen quietly for sounds of Spring. Look and see what kind of wildlife is presenting themselves to you. Smell any flowers waiting to bloom or the pines. Feel the breeze through the trees.
This social event welcomes our PCUUC children, teens & their families as well as anyone any members or friends of our congregation who would like to attend. Please bring a picnic lunch along including a canteen of water, wear good walking shoes and bring a sweatshirt/light jacket. The hike will average 4 approximately miles.
The entrance and parking area are located on Grass Lake Road, just west of Route 45 and east of Route 83. (It is less than a mile on the left if you are coming from Rt. 45).
