The mission of Prairie Circle Unitarian Universalist Congregation’s (PCUUC) Fundraising Committee is to provide ancillary funds to supplement the PCUUC budget, with a portion to be donated to chosen charities.

The fundraising committee is focused on developing a robust and manageable fundraising strategy for PCUUC.  We have a multi-pronged strategy for fundraising and we need your help to implement it.

Our Strategy:

Fundraising Events – Fundraising events like the Stone Soup Auction and the Getting Ready for the Holidays Wine Tasting & Sale are great examples of this type of fundraising.  They are usually planned for a specific date and organized around a particular theme.  These types of fundraisers account for the majority of our fundraising dollars.  Learn more on our Stone Soup Dinner and Auction.

Prairie Pennies- A gift card program that earns money while our members shop.  Learn more on our Prairie Pennies page.

Passive Fundraisers – These are fundraising opportunities that allow PCUUC to earn fundraising dollars without our members having to actually pay us.  An example of a passive fundraiser is GoodSearch.

This year marks a big change in the way we do fundraising at PCUUC.  Our gala event, The Stone Soup Auction, will be moved to the fall timeframe.  This shift will allow PCUUC to budget more effectively, focus on the spring annual campaign, and balance the workload of all of the volunteers that help make PCUUC run so smoothly.

What Can You Do To Help This Year?

1. Commit to participating in Prairie Pennies at least once a month for this entire year.

You can participate in the Prairie Pennies Program by stopping by the Prairie Pennies Table to learn about the magic of this program and the outstanding potential it affords PCUUC.  The more people who participate, the more revenue we generate for PCUUC.

If you have not already committed to participating in Prairie Pennies at least once a month, please reconsider.  By simply using Prairie Pennies gift cards to purchase items and services that you already purchase as a part of your family and daily lives, you could help us meet and beat our 2010 goal.

Thank you to Amy Morton-Miller and Chris Kozlowski for all the work they do as our Prairie Pennies Coordinator and support person (PCUUC Treasurer).

2. Participate in each fundraiser this year in any way you can.

We accept time, talent, and treasure.  It takes all three for us to meet our goals!

3. Make generous contributions in the collection plate each week.

As you think about your weekly contributions, you may want to think through what you would normally contribute at the Stone Soup Dinner and Auction and then redirect those contributions to the weekly collection.
