ZOOM Connections

PCUUC has purchased two licenses for congregational use. Committees or groups interested to connect via the PCUUC license can do so by connecting with the office.


You need to have an Internet connection. Download the Zoom application to your computer or phone (it is free) here at https://zoom.us/download or through the App Store or Google Play (search for "Zoom").

We want to start on time – please allow extra time to get online! In consideration of the whole group, please arrive 15 minutes early in order to get successfully connected. Someone will be on hand to help you if needed. This is especially important if this is your first time using Zoom. If you come late to the conversation and have difficulties connecting, please disconnect and phone in at the # listed and enter the meeting ID followed by #.

If you are patient, you will get this! And of course, practice helps.

Your Zoom Invite Should Look Like This

Join Zoom Meeting


Meeting link: 


Dial: 1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago) and you will be prompted for the 9 digit    
Meeting ID: xxx xxx xxx followed by #

Join by computer

  1. Close any program on your computer that uses your camera, for instance Skype. Have a headset available if possible to minimize feedback – your cellphone earbuds will work well.

  2. Click the Zoom link that’s been shared with you for each event, and Zoom should automatically and quickly download to your computer.

  3. In Downloads on your computer on the bottom left side, open Zoominstaller.exe and follow prompts. Zoom should direct you to this with a large orange flag. Once Zoom has launched, a screen should pop up asking for your name. This will identify you during the meeting.

  4. You should now be part of the meeting. Click the green button that says “Join Audio By Computer”.

  5. At the end of the meeting - select End Meeting.

Join by tablet or smartphone

If you choose to use your tablet or smartphone, be sure to download the 

Zoom app ahead of time. Once you have downloaded the Zoom app,

follow the “Join by computer” instructions above.

Join by telephone

  1. First, dial the phone number provided in the Zoom email.

  2. When prompted, dial the meeting number that is also in the Zoom email.  You may need to also enter #.

  3. Your phone  will be automatically muted once the meeting starts,  If you want to speak, press *6 to unmute.

You can also load a free account to your computer by downloading it from Zoom.

  1. Use your Google Play App or App Store and download following directions.

  2. Or go to https://zoom.us/download and follow the prompts.

  3. From here, you'd access the app and choose to Join a meeting entering the meeting code and password if applicable.
