About the event

Richard Dawkins asserts that seeking to understand our Universe is a noble way to spend one's life, and Friedrich Schleiermacher entreats us to "open out of [our] narrow lives a glimpse into infinity." But lest we forget, our 'narrow lives' are part of that Universe we seek to understand, infinity comprises us, and we each have a role to play in shaping reality, no matter how insignificant our individual lives in the grand scheme of 13.8 billion years.

Mandie McGlynn (she/her) received her Master of Divinity degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in 2019 and has since worked as a barista, poetry busker, tarot reader, preacher, and Spiritual Companion. She strives in each role to witness and give voice to the sacredness of all stories, and the beauty and wholeness in each person. A queer, Jewish, able-bodied, cisgender white woman, Mandie lives just outside of Chicago with her two partners, three teenagers, and two (periodically) delightful dogs. She can be found online at SelahSpiritualCare.org, in the UUA’s WorshipWeb Library, or on Instagram @mandiemcglynn.

Services held in person in the Colby Barn are also available on Zoom. To join us on Zoom, please click on the WORSHIP SERVICES tab on our website and look for the blue Zoom link.
