Guilt from the past and anxiety for the future can inhibit our full presence in the now. Learning to understand and accept our human frailties with observation and correction but without judgment can be a liberating awakening to sustainable happiness in the present. It begins with restructuring our perception and attitude toward the concept of "mistakes" - on the part of ourselves or others. Stories of transformative experiences and lessons - human and canine - will be shared.

Susan Schreiber-DeVillez  was formerly a clinical social worker/psychotherapist and instructor in behavioral sciences for National-Louis University,  In her spare time she enjoys writing and has co-authored a textbook on writing for college students. Today she helps Mano-a-Mano in Round Lake Park prepare permanent residents for citizenship. She lives with Twinkie, a senior terrier and highly evolved spiritual advisor.
