In times like these, hope is hard to find. When we connect to the land and to each other, draw on shared wisdom, and commit, hope can be restored and carry us forward toward change.
Eileen Shanley-Roberts is a founding member of Clean Power Lake County. She is an Episcopal priest who teaches at Bexley Seabury Seminary and leads worship for St. Paul's in McHenry. Prior to joining the faculty of Bexley Seabury, Eileen lived in Waukegan and served as rector of Christ Episcopal Church for 11 years. She and her spouse now live in Highland Park with their two pugs and 2 cats.
